Since my cataract surgery, I have been savoring reading.
I read everything when I was younger. There wasn’t a book I missed checking out from the library, or even getting a find from the bargain bin at the book store. Unfortunately, technology came along and my active reading time kind of fell by the wayside.
Fast forward to post cataract time. I have managed to read a lot of books to supplement what I have been watching on the Netflix series,”The Crown.” My latest addition has been the newest Prince Charles biography. For the record, I did admire Princess Diana, and I wondered if I really wanted to read about Charles post-Diana. It’s been an easy read, but I find myself thankful that Charles will not be my ruler some day. My apologies to any of my readers in the United Kingdom: this is only one Yankee’s opinion.
I will keep you posted as to what’s next on the reading menu.
We visited our friend, Max and his Mom, Norina, last night.
They lost their Dad/husband Mario, and we used to see him when he was in rehab, and took some video of him. As they really didn’t take anything like that when they were taking care of him, we let them know we had it. They came over this morning to see it and, now, we are saving video to the flash drive.
It is awesome how far technology has come. I am happy to do this for Max and his Mom , but it is bittersweet. Jim and I miss Poppa Mario: he was a character. I think we also wish we were able to have our Dads via technology.
We miss them both. Below is a picture of my Mom and Dad.
Hey fit bit…4400?
You want to put my glasses on?
Uh, I went on-line and thought I was tracking my fit bit steps and saw this morning that I had 4400 steps. I just came back in after a big time walk with Kasia, honoring Zush’s boo-boo leg, and said WTF? 4400 STEPS?
Oh yes, I have an iPhone and MacBook Pro and fit-bit zip….
Would be nice if I remember the ” Synch” my fit-bit zip with my computer.
I am sure my nephews are both laughing hysterically that techno-Cioci forgot to synch something up.
**Reaching for the Lady Clairol to cover my rapidly advancing gray**
We are all cooped up in the cottage and Kasia is going nuts. Obviously there is an animal out there that she wants to check out.
We have the Phillies on the radio, Zush is gently snoring, and Jim and I are on the computer.
It is funny, how with us not having a home right now, we have crammed enough stuff in here but it is far from homey.Jim is standing watching his PC and I am tucked away in a corner.
When sleep finally comes tonight, you can rest assured we will be dreaming of a finished home.
