Well, if you are, or were, here in the Mid-Atlantic states, you’ve missed it. The forecast has highs in the 70’s, so, in my opinion, you’ve missed spring. Perhaps you thought spring was a 50 degree day that happened a week or two ago. Maybe that’s why people of my age bracket can argue global warming. We remember spring. I think kids who grew up in the late 80’s-90’s never really got introduced to spring.
Larger people like me were never fans of summer. You looked lousy in a bathing suit, and you perspired ten times more than the percentage of humidity in the forecast. For me, it’ll be interesting this year, to see if there’s a correlation between losing weight and going through summer with minimal discomfort. After all, you know you really don’t like summer when you dream of an all terry-cloth clothing line, so only you would realize how much you perspire, and folks would just be checking out your terry cloth clothes. I mean, folks who are in shape look good in skimpy shorts and tees, and those of us of the larger persuasion who be limp from sweat.
Try to stay comfortable in the advancing temperatures. After all, October is around the corner….lol.
The weather has actually gotten a little cooler, and for me, that’s a good thing.
The girls and I had gone out for a walk, and the first time I had jeans on since it got cooler, well, the air was delightful. It was awesome not to be out in a total flop sweat.
I had stopped and looked at the ground and I snapped a picture.I had a sign of fall on the ground right in front of me-an acorn! I know that “Indian Summer” is a breath away. Yes, you can put me in the column of folks who wait for the time of Pumpkin Spice lattes at Starbucks.
I am ready for fall!
Remember yesterday’s post about humidity?
The cold front came through and I am one happy girl. I get to sleep tonight, relax tonight, or even just hang out tonight without sweat dripping down my face. What a pleasure!
I am sorry some of my buddies are truly sad that summer is going. I agree to a point: I have a pair of sketchers sandals I adore and will be sorry to see them in the closet. They’re going to go to the closet at Undisclosed, and wait the grand rebirth in my retirement!
Whoo-hoo! Something to look forward to!
At the milestone of almost 11 years being married, my husband and I have reached an agreement to disagree on one thing…TEMPERATURE.
It’s 90% humidity out and I am sweating like there is no tomorrow. My better half announces, once we are both in the car, that he feels a chill. As we come back into Undisclosed, he says jokingly, he is going to need a warm spot to sleep in.
I am ok with weather, as long as it is relatively low in humidity and maybe 85 degrees or below. I laugh as I type this, because when we were in our old house,we kept it cool and at night, we heated the bedroom and were BOTH comfortable.
I guess it’s just the price of getting older, huh?
By the amount of sweat coming out of me, you would think it was raining. It isn’t -it’s just a zillion percent humidity. There is no degree of comfort for any of us.
Kasia and Zush are vegging out in front of the fan,as we are watching the Phillies in extra innings, too hot to even think of moving. When I dream in this heat, I dream of October.
There’s a chance of rain today: here’s hoping…..
