Jim’s Mom is down here spending time with us. As she’s 98, I haven’t had too much time to sit at my desk and write a post.

Thanks for understanding!

That Time of Year

My neighbor is holding her annual holiday party this Saturday. It also coincides with my nephew Greg’s visit,so he’ll be coming with us. It actually is a fun party.

The only problem was I usually time my gift to my immediate neighbors with her party. I had to stop and actually get myself together today and make my homemade chocolate covered pretzels, pretzel joy and broken chocolate bark.

I was going to post this last night, but didn’t realize an Apple update would make it puzzling for me to do.Thanks God for Apple: I can honestly say their tech support never let me down. It may be 24 hours later, but here’s the post, complete with a shot of one of the Utz canisters.

The girls went out with me and in the freezing cold, and we gave all but one of the neighbor gifts out and now we are done. Warm and safe like bugs in a rug.

Good night!

Perks of Being Stuck Home

So since the beginning of September, I have had all my e-mail seen within a few hours of when it got sent to me and the Facebook posts I go through like nobody’s business.

Today is National Coffee Day.My buddies from the city,Belinda and Jen,posted about Wawa giving away free coffee, any size, today.Other places, such as Dunkin’Donuts are selling their coffee for 66 cents to commemorate their anniversary.Krispy Kreme is giving away a glazed donut with their free coffee. It has been hard for me down here, after working in a major city for 30 years.Work had more coffee spots within a block, and down here is cause for withdrawal, with the exception of my Keurig on my kitchen counter.

I got out of the house for 5 minutes and went with Jim to our local Wawa and I got a 24 ounce free coffee. It was also nice because I saw a woman I had worked with last spring in the Acme, and she was so happy about no longer working there. We swapped stories for a quick bit.

Thanks, B and Jenna, for the post. The coffee is going down too easy…lol.

I just don’t get it.

I spent a few nano-seconds on why I can’t see people who I am friends with on FB anymore.

Seriously, people have real lives and don’t have the time to read every post written by everyone in addition to the lame-ass ads that advertisers and FB put in the way of a page or a post.

My former neighbors’ oldest just graduated 8th grade and thanks to the frequency of her dad’s posts, I get to see the two youngsters on a relatively frequent basis.Yet the other neighbors who moved away before we did, well, I have to find her making a comment before I even get a stab at seeing her page.

I am hoping that maybe I am just getting old enough to appreciate the fact that I really don’t NEED FB anymore: could that be the case?

Just for me

Three years ago today, I moved my blog, Thereisnosanityclause, to this platform at Word Press.

It’s been a long three years.

I want to take this commercial break, if you will, to thank you all for reading my posts. It means a lot to me and I do appreciate it.What has started as an exercise to keep me going while caregiving for my late mom has become something I look forward to doing.Your occasional comments help keep me going.

Thanks, reader, for stopping.Do come back tomorrow.I’ll be ready with a new post.
