Watching TV

There’s nothing on tv.

We have cable, with the appropriate bells and whistles and premium channels and times are so hard, we are actually watching Phillies baseball for lack of anything better on.Truth be told, I have found some great stuff on Netflix so I really am not caring that the summer season is holding nothing on the television that I need to watch.

It is good, because the girls and I get to go our and walk and enjoy a quiet night and/or sunset. The flip side of this is we have to dodge the mosquitoes, but that’s part of the area here.

Still, a good sunset beats cable any night of the week, and a walk with the girls is the most healing of balms.

Infield fly what?

So it’s Friday night, and with the death of my Phillies, Shingleman and I  are watching the Atlanta-St.Louis game.

Two of the St.Louis guys were supposed to catch a ball, and they didn’t. Atlanta got mad, and all of the people in the stands started, or seemed to, throw things down on the field. The announcer just announced how embarrassing the action was…I am waiting for someone to mention Philadelphia fans, but nothing yet.

All of a sudden I am waiting for football! **sigh**

Thanks to the Travelocity Gnome….

…I have become a “fan” of them. I never thought that I was the type of person to get into them, yet once the Travelocity gnome was introduced in ads, well, every time I saw a gnome statue I would think of their commercials and think, yeah, a gnome for me.

The ones pictured in this post aren’t mine, but my friend Vida’s…she has these in front of her Mom’s house. Thanks to my friend, Rita, I have two Phillie gnomes, one of which is at our house, and one down at “Undisclosed”. I also have a gnome riding a turtle, in homage to Jim and Kathy’s love for turtles, and one with a pitchfork, as I love to garden. I know, there’s a point of being too much, but I think with the 5 or so I have now I am doing good.

Now if I just can get me a mirrored reflection ball……..LOL
