Getting everything together is a job.Anyone who has gone through the process of retirement and moving knows how it goes. You struggle to get things together while life goes on around you.
The problem is getting run down while trying to take the Undisclosed Location down to our new home. Our sleep is off, weather has been all over the board, and in the meanwhile, We are both running a little on the ragged side. It’s rough that our sleep is off and we are worrying about all other stuff, I have come down with classic “falling apart at the seams” health. Jim isn’t quite as sick as me.I am doing but a couple of ailments but the problem is they are all dancing around at the same time.Jim picked up a prescription for me today. Add to the equation that holidays are here.
Hopefully we all will get through this and I am praying next year will be better.
I think the fall( #2) of last week has really caught up with me.A trip to the doctor is definitely in order, because the pain is kind of gripping.
We have come back up for another week of trying to cross things off our list: it’s amazing the things that pile up when you are working toward moving. The physicality of boxes- moving, opening, trashing is becoming an art in itself.
The donation pile was worthwhile, and there will be more to follow what was given this weekend. You never realize how long it takes until you actually have to deal with it.It would help if we actually had some furniture to put some of the stuff in: the amount of boxes would be down even more.
What a job! When we are done, I’ll party!
Can’t use the excuse that I have too much on my mental plate, as caregiving of Mom is long done.
I blame the Cil lifestyle currently known as nomadic life, aka, moving.
We have tried to arrange things to some degree but with limited space it is hard to do.
Things that we have put in one place, well, then we have to make space for other stuff and then you want to get rid of things that need to be trashed..and so on and so on.
I just have to come out and say it that my life is currently a huge ” Dear St.Anthony “. I can’t tell you how many times a day I have to get the wheels in motion with it.Jim and I will actively scour for whatever it is and eventually we do find it. But what a job: it’s like we have nothing else to do during our day.
Things eventually,er,hopefully, will settle down, but they can’t do it quick enough for me.
New house means uber-organization, because I have had enough of this crap.
Thanks for reading ..**climbing down off my soap-box**
I am alone with Zush and Kasia. Jim and our neighbor Mike are on their way back from the storage locker. We still have a bed and sofa to move while Jim still has the truck.
I gave the girls a good walk with some neighbors before I go out and finish putting together what needs to be done. As I sit here sipping some juice, I can only thank this house. I miss it already.
