Number? What number?

Tomorrow we have an appointment with the hospital dietician for our second visit.

As our first was in the beginning fo the month, we have a few weeks under our belt now. We are supposed to bring our calorie book that each meal that we have eaten is recorded in. This we have done religiously.

According to our new scale that we brought for home, we have both dropped weight. I love going to the dietician and getting on the official scale, because I know the hospital scale and my scale will probably give me two different numbers. According to our scale here, my number is pretty satisfactory.

When we go tomorrow, one thing we are going to discuss is menu ideas. I mean, seriously? Jim has the same thing every second day for breakfast. I jump all around trying to trick my metabolism. As I am working more than I have been, I need quick but nourishing breakfasts for me too. Hopefully, tomorrow she will turn the page and let us branch out to low calorie, tasty things that we like, and not even mutter the word quinoa. The dietician is pretty good, so I hope that we’ll leave the office tomorrow with good ideas.

Starting from Step 1

Back from when this picture was taken, I was a ton thinner than I am now.

I officially am disgusted of it. So I made a change.

Today was my first appointment with my dietician.

When I was doing behavior modification, I learned how to do it.Obviously, I dropped some weight. Now, however, it’s different. I am almost 60, and my metabolism is slower. So in a fashion, I have to start at square one. This time I am doing it so I feel better and can go through life with a few less aches and pains.

Wish me luck!

New Year New Heat

So I have gone back to exercise class after the break.

I have decided to tweak stuff a little more: I am adding heat to my diet! They say that your metabolism, when you are over 50,may need a little help, and upping your intake of spicy food might help.Taking one tiny step for me, I had jalapeno cheese this morning.Granted I know I am going to have afterthoughts about eating this, but I figure you have to start somewhere.

I’ll keep you posted.
