Remembering the Day before

One of my favorite documentaries I found on YouTube was entitled 9/10, the day before. An anchorman from Chanel eleven in NewYork, was reviewing the news stories of 9/10, and in review, how insignificant it all seems,in light of the next day’s events.

Well, today is my day before. Fifteen years ago I was getting ready to marry Jim the next morning. What happened the night before, I can remember being with Ryan, my ” beck and call boy”and my maid of honor Denise. I do remember that last ” single girl’s kiss” from Jim.

So here I am, just about 16 years later, and it is funny. You do remember some of the things from before, but it’s like there was no life before him.

It goes without saying Zush is dearly missed and thought of every day. She has a spot in my heart forever.

I married a loving son and brother, a gentle soul, the best pup daddy on earth and my best friend and lover. He is my sit-down and stand-up comedian, and the breath to my life.

So, albeit a day or few hours early, Happy Anniversary to my Jim. I love you more than all the grains of sand in Higbee and the Panama Canal basin.

Fantasy for who?

My preference of sport is baseball, but it’s the time of year for fantasy football.

**fantasy?personally? It’s not MY fantasy…lol**

The last time I participated in fantasy football was back in 2000 and since I was the “old girl” in the office back then, guys were willing to give me tutorials on who to pick and why I am picking them. The only football I ever willingly followed ever in my life was Penn State football, so I knew HOW the game was played. I just didn’t know HOW the point system went. I managed to make it through the season back then, and although I wasn’t in the basement, well, it wasn’t too memorable for me.

One of my buddies, Denise, was spreading word of a fantasy football fundraiser for her son’s hockey team so I figured I’d give it a shot again.The only thing now is that it is a suicide pool so you can’t take the same team twice.I took Green Bay last week and won.I took Kansas City this week.My guide now is my nephew Matt, who is helping me navigate the football pool.

So spring begins when?

People have been announcing to me that tomorrow is the first day of spring. I know we are all tired of winter,but hey, on MY calendar, Thursday is the first day of spring.

Actually, Spring begins today when one of my best buddies has her birthday.

Denise was kind enough to be my maid of honor for our wedding, and although I won’t say how long I have known her for, she started working with me when she was a little over 21.

We have been through a lot together and she is the best honorary baby sister I could ever hope for.

Happy birthday Denise.

Quality Time

Things have really been sucky during the day.

When I hang out with one of my BFF’s,Denise, at lunchtime, we seldom do anything but stay back at our desks.

Today we didn’t.

We decided to do the poor man’s shuffle to 9th and Market Streets to the Walgreens. We got Easter Candy.
Yeah I know. I don’t NEED Easter candy, but sometimes, it just gives you that little comfort that you need.
We had a good time chatting while we were going over and, if anything, it makes me miss the old days.

Another of my BFF’S, Kathy,made a beautiful egg arrangement for me….what a sweetie!
