Two doors up from me live my friends Ivo, Isabella, Matti and Luca…..I go over once a week to have Matti learn interaction with Kasia. She is the best girl and needs Matti to learn how to act with her.
Today is the first day of spring. Dunkin’ Donuts gives out free medium coffee. Ivo was nice enough to go out and get us gals our free coffee in the rain. What a Sweetheart! I especially enjoyed hanging with Isa and the boys. It is so funny to see how quickly they grow
Thanks Ivo and Isa….something to get us through the storm,
We’re at the point of our relationship that I am not looking for anything for Valentines’day, nor am I expecting anything on that day, but there is nothing wrong with sharing the love with my neighbors.
What can be more loving than an Oreo Biscotti? Oven 350 degrees-yields 28 cookies
Here’s the recipe:
1 cup sugar
1⁄3 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
16 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped
2 ounces semisweet chocolate or 2 ounces white chocolate, melted
Beat sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until blended.
Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
Fold in chopped cookies.
Divide mixture in half.
With floured hands, shape each half into a 9×3-inch loaf on a lightly greased large baking sheet.
Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in the centers come out clean.
Remove from oven; cool for 10 minutes.
Cut each loaf diagonally into 15 (1/2-inch thick) slices.
Place slices, cut side up, on same baking sheet.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes more on each side or until lightly toasted.
Drizzle the tops with melted chocolate.Myself? Nah, I’ll take them straight, with a coffee chaser!
Enjoy and share the love!
Once you get over a certain age and female, they warn you about over active bladder.
Sure, you think, no problem: I can handle this.
Coffee? Tea? Not after 2 in the afternoon or else you’ll be up walking to the bathroom most of the night. Oh yeah, and,the doctor has decided that you need a water pill?If you get two solid hours of sleep a night, you’re fortunate.OK, let’s see if you accidentally “forget” to take your medicine, you’ll sleep, but pay the price tomorrow.
Golden years,right?What an adventure.
I miss my kitchen.
Sure I have my “temporary kitchen, but I miss mine, where I could
cook, bake, make coffee in…mine!
Eating out is one thing. How people can do it all the time is beyond
me.Pretty sad when my idea of a comfortable meal is a bowl of
cereal here at Undisclosed.
This house will be done.
**not soon enough**
So the past two weeks have finally come to an end, and mercifully, we all are at Undisclosed .
Shingleman is gently snoring away, and Zush , Kasia and I are enjoying the quiet. I don’t know when the next time we’ll be down, so the energy I’ll try to suck back while we are here is going to have tide me through for a bit. I know,as usual, I’ll savor every second.
Have a good Saturday!
Should know that when the day starts and mercifully I am at home with Jim, and running late, and need a ride to the train-not a good sign.
Make it to the fore-mentioned train by the skin of my teeth. Situated, comfortable, until 2.5 stops later…the lights on the train flicker…Hmm…don’t subway cars do that? Not trains?Well, then the fireworks started as the train lost its’ pantograph and the power that went with it.**thanking education from two nephews on trains 101 as they grew up**
Joined the huddled masses out to North Broad Street in hopes of catching a bus. Got to City Hall and caught a second bus. Got off at Inepta headquarters to get a note to excuse the lateness**read sarcasm here, as employer probably won’t accept it**, and then kicked in with eighty thousand worth of titanium to clock in by 7:223am,sweating oh so gracefully as I strode down to the office.
Hopefully, my coffee will settle me down and things, well, I am shuddering to wonder what the REST of the day will bring.
Hope yours is less stressful.
