There are so many things to do today. Usual things needed for household survivability. Things to unpack once it is down here.Baking, cooking, dog-walking,trying to make the house look respectable.
Anyone who knows me knows I am far from a petite gal.
If only there were two of me to get the chores done today!
A friend of our is alone for the week, and Jim has gone out for the night with him. For someone who wants to be into healthy eating, all you have to do is mention turkey meatloaf and he is out the door…lol. It’s just as well, as he is keeping our friend company.
Meanwhile, I have sunk into the weekend role of hausfrau. The washing I put off during the week was done tonight. I walked the girls three times today.I made some muffins off of a recipe from the internet. Now I have a small crock pot filled with macaroni and cheese to have to eat during the week.
Bedtime for me and the girls can’t come soon enough!
We went out for a walk today, Mom, Dad, Zush, and Kasia.
The sky was the prettiest shade of blue and the clouds pretty neat. The weather was cool so we went for a nice two-mile walk on the beach. Jim went ahead with the girls and I kind of hung back: I kept flipping the phone to track how far we were walking and then to take some pretty beach shots.I was happy to meet a friend of Jim’s on the beach: her name was Fran.Evidently she would always be on that stretch of beach because she is from the area. She was there with her bulldog, Otis.
The sad part is we are going back up tonight. Here’s hoping the packing and last-minute chores can be relatively painless….lol.
I merely wanted to put my name on my yogurt and used a black sharpie.
That is why my thumb looks like it was colored by my dog Kasia, all over the
place just like her. So when your day starts like that, it can only get better,
I have legitimate work to do plus errands for the house and just don’t know if
old Cyber Monday will fit it….
We’ll see. 😀
One of the down sides of taking vacation time on a Friday is when you have to work a Friday, well, your heart just isn’t in it.
To add insult to injury, there is no Nor’easter due or hurricane. It figures. I am here and not an Undisclosed. The skies are a vibrant blue.
Somehow, though, it has to be turned around into a good thing. I need to get some things done that I have been putting off-ok, that’s a good thing. The girls would love to get some woods based walking for a change of pace-second good thing. A chance to go through some older things and make bags for Goodwill, ok-that works, too.
**pushing my sleeves up to get ready**
Have a wonderful weekend!
How grateful am I to have had a chunk of time off. It gave me the chance to relax, spend quality time with Zush, bond tighter with Kasia, ….in short, a chance to kick back.
The weather cooperated enough to get us dog walking daily and savor the peace and quiet .Thankful, I think, all three of us are.
I was so grateful to step away from the office and kind of experience a taste of retirement. I am ready for it!
Shingleman is coming down today-always nice and grateful for having him in my life.
My final gratitude moment is for hydrocortisone cream/ rubbing alcohol/witch hazel… Mosquito bites are almost tolerable!
Have a good weekend!
So, trying to take advantage of the down time, I have Evita on in the background as I try to multitask, trying to keep the girls happy, get some chores done, and not make myself nuttier**insert your witty take on nuttier here____*** than normal.
Bowing to off time, the girls and I had a nice walk this morning, especially since Labor day has come and gone! We freely wandered the streets on our walk, but due to the humidity, I always keep on top of Zush to make sure I am not pushing her too much. Kasia was playing with me and the mosquitoes**scratch, scratch** as I tried to consolidate the recycles for the trash tomorrow. I have a little wash to hang, and in honor of the saint of multi-tasking, I have a baggie with lime away secured with a rubber band on my shower head, trying to clean that up.
Even the chores of life are more palatable down here…nice!
