Well, if you are, or were, here in the Mid-Atlantic states, you’ve missed it. The forecast has highs in the 70’s, so, in my opinion, you’ve missed spring. Perhaps you thought spring was a 50 degree day that happened a week or two ago. Maybe that’s why people of my age bracket can argue global warming. We remember spring. I think kids who grew up in the late 80’s-90’s never really got introduced to spring.
Larger people like me were never fans of summer. You looked lousy in a bathing suit, and you perspired ten times more than the percentage of humidity in the forecast. For me, it’ll be interesting this year, to see if there’s a correlation between losing weight and going through summer with minimal discomfort. After all, you know you really don’t like summer when you dream of an all terry-cloth clothing line, so only you would realize how much you perspire, and folks would just be checking out your terry cloth clothes. I mean, folks who are in shape look good in skimpy shorts and tees, and those of us of the larger persuasion who be limp from sweat.
Try to stay comfortable in the advancing temperatures. After all, October is around the corner….lol.
It must be spring.
Noses are itchy, eyes are watering, and all of a sudden, someone yells,”TORNADO”.
It is a beautiful time of the year. I get to weed out the garden, put some caladium bulbs in and work on the other seeds. I actually have feet that are sandal worthy.I am fortunate in that I have weeded out a ton of older spring clothes and thus, my wardrobe choices are limited for now, but that’s ok.
I have the sandals out and the last Thursday, had the girls out at the bay and came back with a wet sock and a wet sneaker. The key here is being bay friendly for everyone, both Momma and girls.
We are looking forward to the peace and quiet on Mondays through Thursdays, as the shoobies come down and it gets a little more noisy. That’s ok, though.
We live here!
Today and a day or two ago, people started talking to me about the weather getting warmer.Oh yes, I would agree with them that we have crawled up from 8 degrees to 19.People aren’t talking about that though:they are referring to spring.
I am getting a little misty-eyed at the thought of more folks coming down here to ” Mayberry” or “Amity”, as I have been to call Shangri-la here.I know the economy depends on it.I will be extremely happy that I won’t have to pack up to leave on Sunday night and sit in bumper to bumper traffic.I will not like one thing, though, and that is noise.I really don’t have cause to complain here, because next to towns on the Coastline, we are actually kind of quiet. When the season begins, though,it gets somewhat louder and people start speeding through town.
It’s not enough to have me run back to the big city, but I’ll be so happy when October comes and things get back to normal.
Adding all natural one grain dry rice to a smoothie made of kale, carrots, and apples is this morning’s breakfast.Part of me still jokingly is looking for vodka to turn the juice into a bloody mary. You have to get through all this stuff so the system will be cleansed thoroughly.
Why is it that “finding religion” of weight control is always in the spring, when you start moving around and the social season starts up again?I am going to give it a shot and try, and perseverance has to be a stepping stone to keep this going. The Flip fitness class has given me some movement back, and I know one thing.
It didn’t get on there overnight.
…at least for two days. After 60 degree temperatures on Saturday, today the morning temperature was 34 degrees, with a chance of snow coming tomorrow…..
Spring is supposed to be a time for rebirth, not remission into the frozen state. You get the false sense of probably getting spring/summer clothes out, yet this morning I was scouting out some polar fleece.I laugh at local coffee shops promoting iced coffee, as those who were frozen, like me, needed the warmth of the coffee cup alone to warm our hands up.
OK Spring-I will put on warning.
Get your act together.ok? A few months of 50-60 degree weather would greatly be appreciated.
As my nephew Greg would say, it’s as far away from Monday as you can get…amen, I say to that!
It’s has been extremely busy in the office, and it’s one time in my life I wish it wasn’t such a popular spot.
The rain has finally let up and they are calling for some March winds. Hopefully, the girls and I will be able to
get out and visit our friend Sue, and her dog Eby to say hello. To take advantage of the decent weather, we’ll be strolling around
so we all can get some exercise.
It has been a bizarre winter, to say the least. I, for one, will be ready to give spring the thumbs up tomorrow.
Happy spring to you all!
Back in the day, it would currently be spring. What I mean is it would be 50-60 degrees in the daytime, and maybe high 40’s at night.
Now, thanks to global warming, the spring flowers are all bloomed out, and we have seemingly jumped into summer planting of impatiens, dusty miller and marigolds. Well, I managed to plant at Undisclosed and here, but this summer weather?
I miss my spring coat.
