Beautiful Night

There is one reason that I relish the evenings here rather than in the city.I actually got the chance to see stars in the sky.

Sure, when you are in a major metropolitan city, there is a lot of “light” pollution, and very seldom do you actually get to see more than a star or two.Trust me, I speak of 54 years of experience.

We came in from dinner tonight and the sky was actually glittering like diamonds, complete with last quarter, or crescent, moon. You could only look up and know that there was Divine Intervention in the design of that sky. Oh sure, we get our share of snowy, rainy and cloudy nights, but boy, look out when the stars appear. Hollywood, on any award night, pales by comparison.

Zero to one hundred and then poof!

001

The past couple weeks have been non-stop for me and they went by in a particularly
quick rate.

Once again work is keeping me busy, but there seems to be no rest for the weary.Have
to attack my Mom’s house, finally and get rid of a ton of stuff. It’s going to be
hard, but I know I can do it.

Flip side is maybe I’ll br too busy and will forget to eat…hah.

Please hold good thoughts for me, as I try my best to get through the next few weeks.
Prayers, if you so inclined, are always appreciated.

Thanks, gentle Reader.

Apprehension

I am dreading today and am glad to be working .

Yes, it is Christmas Eve, but being of Polish descent, it’s when we ” did” the holiday .

So this is life after Mom’s death.

No Christmas pin can make it right. No Mom= loss. My heart is in my gut thinking of past Christmases.Dad was gone and now so is she.

It’s going to be a long day.
Hold a good thought, ok?
I need it.

Thanks.
Merry Christmas!

My pal Mr. Moon

Taking comfort where ever I can get it from, I met up with my old pal, Mr. Moon, this morning, as I walked up to the SEPTA bus from Mom’s.

I thought about something that is always there, in one way, shape or form. I thought about when my Philadelphia nephews were small, and it would be told to them by my brother, Bob, that the last quarter moon was the north wind’s cookie. The full moon was the cookie, and as the lunar cycle went on, it was the north wind taking bites of the cookie. It warmed me momentarily to go mentally back to that simple time.

The Creator sure knows what he’s doing, doesn’t he?
