Gentle reader, if you remember in a prior post I lamented about the death of my MacBook Pro.
Well, this evening, I called apple knowing I was out of warranty, but they were going to try to help resurrect my Mac.In the meantime, here in Jim’s office, I had three dogs under my feet and the desk.Jim wasn’t very happy with that, and was literally dragging my heart, my Zush, out of the office and as he did, the power cord fell down and we reconnected it.
Not only did the computer come on, but also it is charging.
I feel as though I have gotten wind back in my sails thanks to Zush and Jim’s short fuse. Otherwise, we would have been lamenting a potential trip to the Apple store. Instead, all we need is a new mac power cord!
My Mac Book Pro died.
Maybe I should say I am watching it in ICU right now, as it is plugged in and yet it won’t start-up. The power cord is lit, and there is a faint flicker of green light on the charging cord.
My Apple is my right arm, but considering the recent encounters with my iPhone 6, well, Jim had mentioned that I wasn’t really on the best of terms with Apple. I just really wasn’t needing to go through this right now, you know. I do understand that things happen when you least expect it.To add insult to injury, it’s my Friday night and I am so tired now I can hardly see straight..
I will keep you posted as to the heartbeat of my Apple…..if you see tears on my blog, you’ll know what happened.
…posting a wee bit early because I am heading off to urgent care in a little bit.
Sometime yesterday afternoon, I did something to my right hand. I don’t know if it is something that happened all of a sudden, or as my buddy Kate asked, “was it due to trauma?”, or what.I have an issue with a few of my fingers and tendons so I really have to get this taken care of.
When I was between my first and second cancer, I had been tested for carpal tunnel, and was told that I scored off the chart. That was taken care of by no surgery but by chiropractic visits and b-1 bomber vitamins, which was a type of complex vitamins. My theory at the time was my right hand is my money hand. I am right-handed, so it would have to be something really pressing to get me to go that route.Hopefully, the trip today will calm this hand down, and if I have to be off the Mac Book Pro and/or Iphone for a bit to quiet the hand down, so be it.
So I thought I knew a thing or two.
I operate on a MAC, and also have an iPhone.I, all of a sudden,I couldn’t sync my phone to my trusty MAC.I couldn’t believe it. Me, Ms.Apple, couldn’t do squat all of a sudden. It was if I were brain dead.My former neighbor is an Apple guy, so rude person that I am, I bothered him.
Jim was very understanding and trying to help me out and all of a sudden, EUREKA!
Moral of the story?
Update all your programs……**hitting self on forward**
Jim gave me my Power Macbook for my birthday last year.
It has brought me nothing but joy.
Having worked with computers for a long time, you haven’t lived until you never have to deal with a blue screen, a Norton anti-virus, windows error messages, and so on and so on…if you are a windows user, you KNOW what I am talking about.
I’m converted- I’m a believer!
My Jim accused me of being an addict this morning-an Apple addict,
I used to use a HP laptop, but was so frustrated by all the anti-virus stuff and basically was up to my window panes dealing with the Windows OS. Jim bought me an power Mac book for this birthday that passed. Using it for work and writing, it is a wonderful experience after dealing with Norton and the like. The IPhone, which I got to help me back in caregiving days, has been a Godsend. Back in the day, it saved my sanity many a night. After being a Droid user for a bit, I happily embraced the IPhone.
So yes, Jim, I do love my Apple phone & laptop… But love you above all!
Back in the day, Jim wasn’t used to getting a wife birthday presents and Christmas presents in the same week.
Then I turned 50. Hah! Got a smart phone, shore house and HP laptop all within one month. Nice.
In anticipation of a life after my current job, Jim got me a birthday/Christmas gift last night. I have crossed the abyss. I now own a Mac book Pro. I am an apple girl.
In other avenues, today is my Mom’s 89th birthday and I will be the first to admit that I seriously wondered if she’s see it. Thank you God, for the gift of my Mom.
It is also the 9 month birthday of my new knees….
Farewell from the undisclosed location, for now…..
