Loosen up the knots

I had really rough back pain this week, and then when the orthopedic physician said about arthritis working in the equation, well, the pain in the head worrying about it was almost matching the pain in my lower back.

I forgot one thing. Flip fitness class.

Fortunately my instructor is always looking for feedback and ways that participants in the class feel that they can get more out of it, or benefit from it.I made it a point to let Jackie know about my back and we worked more core and stretches. It was insane, because I started the class feeling lousy, and left pretty well loosened up. Movement may start out as painful, but when you get things moving, it’s incredible how different you feel.

The funniest thing was we had some good laughs in class tonight, and my buddies and I laughed so hard there were tears coming out of our eyes,Fortunately Jackie is a good sport, because as much as we tried to stop laughing, we couldn’t….after all, laughter is the best medicine!

You need to come out and try this Flip Fitness Class. Message me and I’ll give you the vitals. Young, old, you move and you feel good!

Withdrawl.

That’s what I went through last week, when I couldn’t go to my Flip Fitness class.I still have my stitches in but by tonight, I was a little bit more secure in going.

There’s something about a Flip Fitness class that has us all together. We are in the same boat-trying to get our bodies mobile and feeling somewhat better about ourselves. When one person isn’t here, they are missed. We share what’s going on and in our own heads, we are happy to be going, because we know it HELPS us.The exercise and stretch is beneficial, but the laughter that we share is even more beneficial. At the end of what is often a very long day, it is a perk to be able to laugh off steam.

Look up Flip fitness classes, if you feel things like yoga or Zumba aren’t your speed yet. You’ll be pleased at the difference you feel in your body.

Laughing through Fitness

When September returned, so did my Flip Fitness class-boy did I miss it!

The wonderful thing about Flip Fitness is that you are exercising: you aren’t home, on a sofa, stuffing your face or out sitting on a bar stool. You are actually feeling blood move through your body as you exercise.Your lungs are exhaling when you start your seated crunch and inhaling on the way up…it’s a great class to get your feet wet when you want to take charge of your body again, especially if you haven’t been, of late. After you’ve been to a few classes, you start to feel the accomplishment reflected in your body.

Even more fun is that we laugh. Really. We do. We crack up between exercises and talk about our day, our spouses, our bosses and with the exertion of the exercise, the laughter is the cherry on top.

Flip fitness is through the area: leave me a comment and I’ll message you where I go and the times.

Trust me:you’ll thank me!You’ll have a good ache from the exercising, and a bigger ache from the laughter!

A laughing good time

There weren’t that many of us in our Flip Fitness class tonight, but we still had a blast.

Our teacher, Jackie, plays a variety of music for us to do the exercises to.Some from the fifties, sixties, all the way up to ” Happy”. With Jackie, tonight, was Jess, who was training with Jackie and she is just a baby, in a matter of speaking She just had a baby a little while ago, and looks fabulous forty pounds thinner. It was too funny, though, because when the seventies music was on,and I/we were singing, I was teasing Jess, saying that she didn’t even know WHO Three Dog Night were.My fellow classmates chuckled, as we are in the same age bracket. The kids today are a hoot, because sure they know all the songs: they either google or you tube them. As the class went on, we talked about transistor radios.I jokingly told Jess she needed to bring a nine volt battery for class next week for her transistor radio.

It is good to be able to exercise. It is better to exercise in a group. It’s the best if you can laugh while you are doing it.

Rough

I make sick calls for my Church, bringing Communion to those who can’t make it to Mass.

Last night I stopped first and saw my buddy Sue. What a rough visit.

Her condition is going downhill. Her husband, although he probably knows it, doesn’t say it.
So when he is out of the room talking to my husband, Sue and I talk about a lot of things.
Basically we talk about dying.

Her quality of life is getting poorer by the day. She was speaking of how she can’t get in
the car and ride any more. She can’t walk Eby, her dog.As ahe speaks to me, the tears fall
from her eyes. Her degenerative brain disease obviously hasn’t gotten to her emotions
yet, although she told me yesterday her eyes are starting to fail.

I did manage to make her laugh though.

We talked about her leaving and eventually seeing her family again, as is the belief or
the faith we share.I told her that one day I would come to see her and she wouldn’t be
there.I looked at her straight in the eye and asked her who’d have the last laugh?

She said she would, of course….and we both started laughing.

Hold a good thought , or say a prayer for Sue if you would, please.
It’s rough,leaving one spot behind.

Thanks…appreciate it!

Bah!

The 90’s hit “You’ve had a bad day” came home with me tonight.

Jim is sick with a hacking cough. Hot soup for dinner~ he doesn’t want to eat. I went up with the girls to see my friend who is very sick. She fell off the toilet because her legs are getting worse. Now I have to go down to my friend whose husband is in rehab. She is scared about caregiving: she has been married 55 years and is afraid to see what happens down the road.

I try to help, but after a while, it’s a rough gig!

A P.S.- to cap dinner off, my husband just dropped a roast beef, albeit a small one, on the floor ….

Did I mention Zush is happy? 😀

Ron Burgundy

It’s been that type of day.

So now, after helping Shingleman prep our dinner, what would I find on HBO but Anchorman, starring Will Farrell. This movie is so funny, and it actually transforms me back to that era. I also laugh when how I see how many stars “started” out with some sort of role in the movie; be it supporting or guest star.

We’re having lemon, ginger, strawberry, orange, cucumber, kale, parsley, apple and carrot juice for dinner . We’ll enjoy it while watching the rest of the movie.

You stay classy, Sam Diego!
