Breezing Along with the Breeze

I guess that if it is sometime in late October, one would assume that autumn is already here.

Down here it has been more like Indian summer then actual autumn. That was, until last night when the weather front came through. Gone is my uniform of T-shirt and shorts: long pants and hoodies have actually come out. I am not complaining actually because fall is my favorite season.

The girls were hanging with me outback on the deck this afternoon. I know Zush appreciates the change in temperature,as her coat is thicker than Kasia’s. As I post this blog entry the girls are with me in the bedroom all snuggly nice and warm with all the windows closed in the house. After all, there’s fresh air and then there is 3 blanket weather.

Here’s hoping for a nice crisp autumn for us all!

My Girls

I am so thankful for my girls, because they are my family. It’s funny how the three of us stick together through thick and thin.My girls’loyalty is something I know I’ll have until I kick.

Wish I could say that about more things but hey, I wouldn’t trade them for all the tea in China.

New Month

A lot of changes always happen in August.

The sun sets earlier, here at the bay we occasionally hit 65 degrees at night. Sure, the television is inundated with sneaker, pen and other back to school commercials.

To return to the shore, though: the slight change in temperature, and the last of the vacationers packing up to go, are all welcome to me. I won’t enjoy getting up early again, but a new school year is always a challenge, be it for a student or teacher.

I have been savoring my time with the fur girls. The realization that today is August 1 makes me appreciate every second I am home with them.

Time marches on.

Drowsy Day

We were good today.

Up early, walking the fur girls, shopping, and then the storm front came in.

Zush had the right idea: nap time .

Kasia must have felt the front coming through, because she kept waking the two of us up last night. Sometimes she’s an alarm for Zush, so we get her out to tap a kidney. Sometimes , not often, there’s a lot of traffic out front.Sometimes the weather front is coming through… you can try to figure what’s up with the girl, but you’ll lose sleep over that.

So good-night from now drizzly Townbank.

Sleep tight!

Bedtime

Well, it’s 8:01pm, and I figure I need to shower and go to bed soon.

Yes you read right:bed.

I have a full school day tomorrow, mixed in with the fur girls, and then the long ride to see “Eat your Science”, starring Alton Brown.

Actually, I fibbed,as I am doing a small load of wash before bed. I have decided that I am going to try to get some rest this weekend.

What is it they say about the road to hell with good intentions? Lol

Screen house night two…

Well, here we are tonight, out in the screen house.

If you look at the picture of the Zush, she accurately reflects the amount of sweat we are dealing with. Kasia is outside the screen house, guarding us or protesting about or sweat- take your pick.

The humidity has returned with a vengeance and weather is threatening to go to three digits. Thus, we are out here letting the compressor rest while we listen to the Phillies on the transistor radio.I am reading, too, to try to take advantage of twilight. All is quiet right now at Undisclosed location.

Here’s hoping your Saturday night is a wee bit cooler.

Blech….

So the diagnosis, chapter two, was cellulitis. I never knew anyone with it, so this was a first for me.

I have tried to stay off my legs as best as I could. My nephew, Greg, came down this morning to help me. It was good of him to serve as my second legs. It would seem that I have to take antibiotics for a bit, so hopefully, this will be the end of the story.

There is no Friday five today, just gratitude for the company of my fur girls, Greg and his help and company this morning, and Jim, for always being there for me.

Have a good weekend!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

012

With the help of my nephew, Greg, I managed to bring in some brownie cupcakes I made for co-workers today, because doesn’t chocolate work?

I am missing Mom and Dad today, who were my first Valentines. I still feel their love every day.

Happy Valentine’s day birthday to my retired pal, Duch, who I hope is having a helluva good first birthday away from the”home”.

I am lucky to have my two furry Valentine children, and of course, my one and only Valentine, Shingleman!

And you, my reader?

Happy Valentine’s day! Thanks for being here reading this. You guys are my daily Valentine!
