I know friends of mine who go and say they have seen Halloween decorations up right with back to school stuff. I know people who can’t wait until Halloween is over to put up Christmas stuff.
Where I am at now, people decorate, except for me.I really had to shake my head this morning because a part-time neighbor a few blocks away has Christmas stuff up. Everyone else who decorates has fall/Thanksgiving stuff up.
Seriously?
The story goes is that she decorates early because she brings her friends down mid-December and they celebrate Christmas then.
Me?
I’ll be the one in bed with the blanket up to my nose, wondering is it’s February 1st yet.
I love decorating as much as the next person, but my family usually waits until after Thanksgiving until we put up any of the Christmas decorations. Well this year my roommates wanted to put up the Christmas tree right after Halloween and personally I felt it was a little early, but their reasoning was similar to your neighbor down the street, they want to put the stuff up early because we will be leaving early from school and they want it up long enough to enjoy it before we leave to go back home. Even still, I think it is a little early to be putting up the Christmas tree, it feels as though people are skipping right over Thanksgiving when the Christmas stuff goes up that early.
Samantha, back in college, I would have followed suit because of the same rationale.I think people don’t appreciate the holidays and folks just seem to want to skip over ones they don’t like. I thank you for reading the blog and taking the time to comment!
