Phone parking for utilities

I am on the phone with our local gas authority.

I work customer service, so I know how important it is to pick up a phone, help a taxpayer, or at least try to, and do your job. Now I am told my estimated wait time is 4 minutes.What an improvement! Yesterdays wait time, dialing in at the same time of day was 31 minutes. Don’t utilities realize the amount of customers they have to deal with? I just don’t get it. People who have to wait for me for 2 minutes on the phone let me know they have been waiting. I think the utility just wants you to tire out so when you have to talk to them, you are too tired to argue.
